Abstract

“Aortic acute syndrome” comprises several life-threatening aortic pathologies that give rise to aortic symptoms. An early diagnosis and an adequate immediate treatment are mandatory for the survival of these patients. We discuss the diagnostic approach and the most recent surgical treatment for this frightening syndrome that still carries high morbidity and mortality despite the continuous development of new surgical procedures and technologies.
