Abstract

Anti-aging skin care is a large and dynamic business, accounting for 22% of the global skin care market worth US$ 66 billion and growing at 11% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) between 2001 and 2007 according to data from Euromonitor International. Euromonitor predicts skin care to grow by 24% to US$82 billion by 2012, a very impressive increase for a mature market. Anti-aging products are expected to be key drivers of that growth [1-3]. While none of us possess crystal balls, understanding the key trends which impact the industry will help to better recognize and prepare for the future. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2010.
