Abstract

The frequency of the induction of androgenesis in cultured anthers is in general rather low. In order to utilize anther culture in crop breeding programs, it is essential that the haploids are produced in large numbers. In this chapter various factors responsible for enhancing androgenesis in rice are discussed.
