Abstract

Randomized controlled study (RCS) compared with surgery alone is necessary to evaluate the significance of post-operative adjuvant chemotherapy for colorectal carcinoma. In this paper, I introduced a part of the results of our department by historical study, and mainly described the results of the national RCSs for adjuvant chemotherapy. The results of a study groups have been reported up to now. In adjuvant chemotherapy for colonie carcinoma, all of 6 study groups showed no significantly better survival rates. In adjuvant chemotherapy for rectal carcinoma, only 2 groups of them showed significantly better survival rates. Further RCSs which change the variety and combination of anti-cancer agents, or use the biochemical modulation together are required.
