Abstract

While the majority of children with renal dysfunction have structural, immunological, or infectious disorders, some have metabolic defects arising from abnormalities in biochemical pathways of cell metabolism. This chapter focuses on metabolic diseases that compromise kidney function or cause renal structural abnormality and are not covered elsewhere in the textbook.
