Abstract

The synthetic methodology which has been utilized to prepare a number of polynitropolycyclic cage explosives in our laboratory is presented, and the underlying strategy is described in each case. The results of thermodynamic studies of several poly-nitropolycyclic systems are presented and discussed along with preliminary results of explosive evaluation studies which have been performed on D3-hexanitrotrishomocubane and on 4,4,8,8, 11,11-hexani tropen tacyclo[5 .4.0.Q2,6 .Q3. 10 .05,9] u ndecane.
