Abstract

Lymphedema is a chronic disease with increased volume giving considerable dysfunction in terms of decreased mobility, heaviness, susceptibility to infections, and psychological and cosmetic problems. This influences activities of daily living and leisure as well as dress. In spite of the development of modern cancer treatment, lymphedema is still an important and to a great extent an underestimated problem. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
