Abstract

Today's IT industries are growing rapidly and demands for new technology for handling on-line requirements of their customers in a very efficient and cost effective way. With the invent of popular cloud computing technology, IT enterprises have started moving their service capabilities to cloud model to satisfy the needs of the customers by providing variety of services under single window. Further, it is imperative to understand the level of services extended by cloud computing model for diverse applications. Therefore it is required to adopt proper testing of cloud services and also strategies for testing applications running on different cloud computing models. This paper deals with the need of testing application in cloud, comparative study of different tools available to test the application in the cloud for various abilities, essential quality attributes necessarily tested for some sample applications and finally an inference is drawn from the study that all testing tools are not supporting testing of every quality attributes and also each and every quality attribute is not necessarily required to be tested against quality of application.
