The main objective of this research study is to identify the factors that affect student disposition to use mobile learning (m-learning) in higher education institutions from the city of Medellín (Colombia). The methodology is quantitative and correlational and is based on confirmatory factor analysis. Data are gathered through a Likert-scale survey that is applied to a sample of 238 students. The technological acceptance model (TAM) and the theory of planned behavior (TPB) are applied. The results highlight the importance of subjective norms and attitudes for understanding student disposition to use m-learning. Subjective norms and attitudes are affected by perceived ease of use and learning autonomy, respectively. In conclusion, the present study provides a holistic approach for implementing virtual programs that use mobile devices as support tools in higher education institutions.
