My name is Nina Vitalievna Sheremetsinskaia, I was brought here from the maternity hospital where I was born in 1927, and I have never moved. My sister Elena who you see is six years younger than me, she was an astronomer and worked her entire life in secret aviation factories, they called them “iashchiki,” “drawers,” she drew astronomical charts for the pilots. In the beginning, there were five members of my family in this one room, then we got a second room.
