Abstract

Abstract: This paper aim to describe the construction and functioning of the Children and Youth Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS-i). Therefore we hold an integrative review of the data base SciELO, BVS-psi and portal periodicals of CAPES from 2002 to 2013.The reviewed texts were subdivided into two groups. The first one was constituted by writings that covered the construction of CAPS-i and the second one by texts related to the working of the Centers. From the analysis and discussion of the reviewed texts we had come to the conclusion that the CAPS-i was created in order to guarantee the care for children and teenagers who were institutionalized and treated just by considering their organic issues. However, even with the creation of a specific service for this population, the CAPS-i hasn’t been consolidated because it goes in a way of a medical transition models process or individualizing ones for the integrated care model.Key Words: CAPS-i. Integrative review. Mental health.
