Abstract

The main concern of the dentist performing surgical procedures involves fundamental principles of surgery, asepsis and antisepsis, to prevent pathogenic microbes from entering the body as well as spread of certain infectious diseases from one patient to another. Sterilization of instruments, as well as preparation of the patient and dentist are therefore considered necessary. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2007.
