Abstract

The taxonomy of Melaleuceae has been re-assessed in the light of DNA sequence studies and it is concluded that all genera should be placed within Melaleuca. Beaufortia, Calothamnus, Conothamnus, Eremaea, Lamarchea, Petraeomyrtus, Phymatocarpus and Regelia and their constituent species are formally transferred to Melaleuca. One hundred and six nomenclatural changes are provided of which 72 are new combinations and 34 are new names. © International Association for Plant Taxonomy (IAPT) 2014.
