Abstract

The Shouldice repair is a pure tissue repair designed to correct direct and indirect inguinal hernias. The advantages of the repair are (1) the thorough dissection and demonstration of the inguinal anatomy, (2) surgery under local anesthesia, and (3) early ambulation.
