Abstract

Introduction: The authors present the experience of our service regarding traumatic injuries of oral mucosa. Study design: Retrospective chart analysis. Material and method: The most common traumatic lesion found was the hyperplasic fibrosis (41,79%). The other being mucous cists, leukoplasia and papillary hyperplasia. Results: We noticed a predominance of lesions located in tongue, gengivo jugal region and palate, which had mainly as traumatic agents bites and dental prosthesis. The results reflect our population's poor dental condition and difficulty to access dental care.
