Abstract

Coordinated multi-point transmission/reception (CoMP) is a promising way of coping with cell edge problem in current cellular mobile communication systems. This paper addresses the design of transmission algorithm of CoMP systems. We focus on dynamic cell selection (DCS) based CoMP strategy, which achieves large performance gain with moderate information sharing overhead. A minimum SINR based low-complexity BS selection criterion is proposed and evaluated through system level simulations. Simulation results show that the proposed criterion yields good frame error rate (FER) performance. © Springer-Verlag 2012.
