Abstract

Although death is part of our lives, it has not yet been integrated as a topic of interest in education. The main objective of this research is to know the conception of the Social Education student in relation to the importance and need of training in education for death, as well as the proposals that could be developed to carry out a pedagogy of death. This study has been carried out through a qualitative methodology, using the semi-structured, non-formal, conversational and biographical interview as a data collection technique. The sample consists of 65 students of the Degree of Social Education of the University of Granada. The opinion of all the interviewees is highlighted about the importance of developing a pedagogy of death and trying to change the conception of death as a taboo subject, raising awareness and normalizing this theme. It exposes the importance of working on this topic naturally, putting into practice different fun and dynamic activities to accept this process and deal with it in the best possible way. It is necessary to continue to deepen the consolidation of results, which offer a reference in the design of new proposals that approach death as an educational element.
