Abstract

The last couple of years have been marked by technology, not by business. Today, companies are realizing that the use of IT must be tackled from a more process- oriented point of view. This new approach is represented by re-engineering and the transformation of business processes. In addition, strategic and technical ques- tions cannot be dealt with separately. In this article, a framework will be presented that encompasses the whole life-cycle, from business process design to informa- tion technology (IT) deployment, leading to a completely new process-oriented software concept. At the same time, the architecture closes the gap between busi- ness process modeling and IT-applications.
