Abstract

Due to the advance of the use and capabilities of the Web, the educational institutions increasingly look for effective learning methods that explore it as an educational resource, including those methods related to physical education. WebQuest (WQ) is a Web based and inquire-oriented learning method. We identified studies about the use of WQ in class activities and autonomous learning activities. Some studies report the use of WQ lessons in educational activities with mobile devices. However, existing works do not address how to use the WQ methodology with mobile technologies aiming to promote advanced teaching activities for scholar physical education. This work contributes to the research about how the WQ can be used in conjunction with mobile and tangible technologies for the improvement of learning in scholar physical education. A design of a mobile platform model is proposed, and it is implemented in a prototype of a WQ-based tool for supporting physical education teaching, which integrates theory and practical activities. We present preliminary results with 15 students of Physical Education and Dance disciplines of 7th grade of elementary school level.
