Abstract

In stellar astrophysics, the study of the atmospheres of early-type stars plays a very special role since they display a variety of different phenomena, such as diffusion of chemical elements. To understand the actual role of all these physical phenomena, it is important to seek constraints from observations and for this purpose open cluster stars are particularly interesting they have: the same original chemical composition and age, and accurate age determinations. Here we present the results obtained for the stars observed in NGC 5460 with the FLAMES multi-object spectrograph of the ESO VLT. We find that the abundance of several elements increases with temperature between 7,000 and 10,500K and decreases from 10,500 to 13,000K. No correlation between abundance and ν sin i was found. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.
