Abstract

This chapter introduces explorative search as compared to focused search. The dynamic taxonomy model is then formally defined. Implications on schema design, advantages and the main application areas of dynamic taxonomies are outlined. Finally, differences between dynamic taxonomies and faceted search are discussed, and the book roadmap introduced.
