Abstract

Since 2014, several research projects were launched or in progress on plastic debris issue at the scale of the Seine Bassin catchment, combining a high population density and a strong anthropogenic pressure. These projects, illustrated in Fig. 1, are investigating both macro- and micro-plastics (<5 µm) in urban water and in freshwater upstream and downstream of Paris Megacity (France). The keynote will provide a global overview on the knowledge gained from these projects and draw the major learned lessons.Fig. 1.
