Unlike most other parts of the body, the pelvic floor imaging not only should yield clues about the integrity of anatomy but also should provide knowledge about functionality of the structures visualized. In this chapter we will review developments in different areas aimed at marrying imaging with functional evaluations. We will review how ultrasound may be used in interventional urogynecology, as well as developments in 3D manometry, MR diffusion tensor imaging, and ultrasound real-time elastography.
