Abstract

The collection of mobile wireless nodes that can self-organize in the absence of pre-installed infrastructure is claimed as mobile ad hoc network. Furthermore, nodes are open to enter or exit the network subsequently leading to dynamic topology. Nodes are equipped with limited energy resource. So carefulness in consuming the energy is required in MANET that affects the operational lifetime of the entire network. IETF draft of MANET suggests that the tuning of parameters with respect to dynamic network behaviour affects the overall protocol performance to a positive extent. This is called time series problem of LANMAR (LANdMARk) routing protocol and it is solved by dynamically calculating the configurable parameters (fisheye update interval) of the existing LANMAR using soft computing technique. However, few efforts are made to optimize the existing LANMAR routing protocol towards green-technology. In this paper, we created various network scenarios of LANMAR routing protocol using EXata simulator/emulator and MATLAB. Simulation results reveal that the proposed fuzzy-based LANMAR brought out better performance than the existing LANMAR.
