Abstract

This chapter explores the use of collateral sources of information in the forensic evaluation in child custody evaluations. Rationale for using collateral sources of information is discussed as well as strategies for selecting appropriate and helpful sources. Techniques for obtaining information from collateral sources are described. Evaluation of the obtained information is also discussed with regard to challenges to the validity of data obtained. Use of collateral sources in court testimony is also explained.
