A methodology to carry out a process of stochastic modeling in the calculation of the capacity of load of a strip footing, on a purely cohesive soil, is proposed. The mentioned modeling is based on the application of the Monte Carlo Simulation, which is more efficient, in terms of results, than the classic procedures using deterministic models. These results will be the base for the application of a probabilistic design method, specifically the safety theory, starting by a statistical characterization of every variables that impact in the problem, in this case considered as random, and it defines as a final result, a safety level for the structure, whose value will be the nearest to the safety required in the design by the first limit state limit or stability limit state, it is equivalent to 0.98. By this way it is established the design point of the structure according to the design condition for safety.
