Abstract

Patients with severe cognitive impairment are not capable of interacting with the audiologist during an audiology test. However, these patients often show gestural reaction to the auditory stimuli that can be interpreted by audiologists with comprehensive experience in this type of case. In this study, we analyze the area around the eyes and the movements that occur within it, since is in this area where most of gestural reactions take place for these patients. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
