Abstract

Demographic change will reduce the proportion of people of working age in the total populations of all OECD countries, with potentially adverse effects on economic growth. However, this tendency could-at least partially-be countered by increasing employment rates. Employment is particularly low in the higher age groups. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
