Abstract

This chapter first introduces the concept of networked control systems (NCSs) and the properties of network constraints and the design challenges for NCSs. Following this, the basic principle of receding horizon control (RHC) is briefly introduced. Then the overview of the RHC-based strategy for networked systems and distributed RHC for large-scale systems are provided, following which the motivations of the book are presented. Finally, the outline of this book and the conclusion of this chapter are provided.
