In the Guise of a (Global) Comprehension: A Multidimensional Analysis of Urban Public Spaces Through Selected Authors

Abstract

This chapter proposal is two folded: As it explores the model discussed in the introductory chapter, by Capanema Alvares and Barbosa, and sees how well it works as a tool to analyze urban public spaces and to bridge the arguments made by the authors present in this book, it also tries to unveil the global nature of events that lie in the core of these very Brazilian cases. As such, it is an ending chapter; hopefully, however, it will come to open new ways of looking at urban public spaces with the criticisms and contributions of our readers, which will be most welcomed.
