A new mechanical damping peak in austenitic stainless steel 316 H

Abstract

In this work, mechanical dynamical spectroscopy measurements were performed in austenitic stainless steel 316 H. A new damping peak at approximately 733 K, which has not been reported in the literature, was found. This peak did not show thermally activated behaviour.
