Abstract

To summarize, the discovery of unexpected benefits of ARBs and ACEIs, unrelated to BP lowering, suggests a new paradigm to understand the genesis and progression of renal disease in diabetic and perhaps other patients. Novel therapeutic strategies will, hopefully, ensue. © 2006 Oxford University Press.
