Abstract

A definition of the concept ″color″ is followed by a comprehensive discussion of the subject which is presented under the following headings - history of theories of color perception; science and technology have modified thinking; revolutions in science and technique; color research - an important discipline; a set of tristimulus values, X, Y, Z, required to match the appearance of a particular color under specified illumination; influence on color problems; the human brain and color vision; color and science technology.
