Abstract

The article discusses the organizations' failure to realize the difference between qualifications for experience in promotions. According to Gayle Mitchell, program management office director and senior project manager, academic qualifications and training are the basis to appoint project managers, rather than their experiences. She added that when project managers encounter problems, the first thing to do is to talk to someone such as the supervisor, mentor or colleague.
