Abstract

Games have always been present and are important in the society, not just for entertainment and fun, but also to help social cohesion and to develop several skills such as psychomotricity, reflexion, and management. Video games have been progressively developed and have become more complex in parallel with the evolution of the technology. Video, or computer, games have more detractors than partisans! Those in favor of video games highlighted the fact that games improve dexterity, management, and could be beneficial for the cognition. While people against computer games emphasize the fact that games promote violence, obesity, and decrease in social life. Current level of evidence of each of those points will be discussed in this chapter. Thanks to the potential positive aspects of the games, first traditional games and then video games have been tested and integrated in the conventional rehabilitation. Different steps of this integration will be presented in this chapter, with the limitations and the field of application.
