The article presents the findings of the Professions Apart survey, conducted by "Doctor" and "Hospital Doctor" periodicals, which revealed that the British National Health Service (NHS) reforms have set general practitioners (GPs) and consultants more at odds than ever. Over two-fifths of doctors surveyed felt that relations between the two groups of clinicians had deteriorated. The causes of the problems, according to both groups, are poor communications and changes in salaries, among others.
