New nanoporous carbons were prepared by carbonization of resorcinol-formaldehyde-Pluronic F127 composite in the presence of KOH. The obtained nanoporous carbon possesses 2.4-nm mesopores and high surface area of 3277 m2 g-1. The obtained nanoporous carbon showed a high CO2 adsorption capacity of 6.2 mmol g-1 at 273 K and 745 mmHg because of such high surface area and nanopores larger than 1 nm in size.
