Abstract

Palavras chave: rabdomiólise, fármacos hipolipemiantes Abstract The authors report the case of a 54 year-old patient with rhabdomyolysis secondary to an anti-lipaemic drug. High levels of creatine kinase and myoglobin, as well as increased concentrations of aspartate transaminase and alanine transaminase, lead to the diagnosis. In spite of those laboratory findings, severe renal insufficiency did not occur, probably because of early treatment. A review of the literature on this subject is also presented.
