Abstract

In Mexico, Mazatlán is one of the most important cities in Sinaloa and the main tourist destination in the state, which is promoted as a sun and beach destination, but not enough to attract five-star hotel tourism since it is one of the options that demand more and better services. The objective of this research is to analyze the use of ICT in the promotion of five-star hotel tourism. A sampling was carried out between the months of February and March 2022, where 4 government institutional web pages, 3 tourism platforms and 2 social network pages were analyzed. The results obtained indicate that there is a lack of clarity in the information that is handled in the pages of the government sector, in relation to information on tourism in general about places of interest and promotion of five-star hotel tourism, the lack of links with the business sector can also be noted, it is important to establish clear and precise policies that help strengthen the relationship with the tourism sector. Finally, the correct use of ICT, as a strategy constitutes a valuable contribution in the positioning of five-star hotel tourism.
