Abstract

The lack of explicit semantics in the current security management solutions for OGSA (Open Grid Services Architecture) makes them not suitable for large distributed systems as data mining grids. Management representations based on the concept of ontology are being used to incorporate semantic expressiveness and reasoning capabilities. This paper proposes the adoption of a semantically-rich CIM (Common Information Model)-based policy management system for the OGSA Security Architecture, in which the security policy development is based on the use of OWL (Web Ontology Language) and OWL-S (OWL-based Web Service Ontology). © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.
