Abstract

The mechanisms of adsorption-abstraction of surfactants on heterogeneous surfaces are described in relation to the general laws of adsorption. The procedure takes into account the influence of potential energies, surface energetic heterogeneity and the possibility of surface precipitation. The need to estimate the surface of the adsorbed layer by a judicious choice of reference phase is also discussed. (P.M.T.)
