Abstract

In recent days, Internet of Things (IoT) pave the way for lot of opportunities in terms of discovery, product and user applications. Based on the IoT, medical sector is moving towards a smarter health-based application to diagnosis, treatment and control of health issues. This chapter will discuss an IoT-based pill dispenser application to provide how proper mediation to the patient can be achieved for a healthier life. The purpose of the proposed dispenser pills is to monitor the proper intake of pills for our self, and especially for elders, which is much more important. IoT is integrated to provide human interaction between the patient and doctor to monitor and provide proper dosage of medication to the patient. By having a wide discussion on the IoT and cloud based on pill dispenser, we have analysed and compared various pill dispensers and how they differ from cloud-based health application.
