Abstract

The article discusses the growing trend of digital resources replacing textbooks in the U.S. education system. It notes that U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan has advocated a shift towards digital resources as well as the decreasing support of printed textbooks from librarians. Suggestions are provided on how teacher librarians can assist school districts transitioning to digital resources, covering topics such as curation, metadata, and learning objects.
