Abstract

The article discusses what linked data looks like and how to read it. The increase in the prominence of linked data in libraries and the initiatives to replace Machine-Readable Catalogue or Cataloguing (MARC) as a standard for encoding and exchanging bibliographic data is highlighted. The method of designing hypertext markup language (HTML) to produce linked and structured documents fro humans to read, understand and follow links from is explained.
