Abstract

One of the most serious issues holding back the widespread of 3D web-based animation games over the Internet is the lack of authenticity due to artificial generation. In this paper, a lightweight interactive game based on motion capture is presented, which can produce realistic animation. A virtual human model is built on the skeleton-skin structure. Driven by the data from the motion capture system, the skeleton of the virtual human accomplishes the deformation process on skin by setting the weight of relativity between the skeleton and the skin's vertices, which avoids joint seams. Based on the human animation, an interactive game is designed and published over the Internet. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
