Abstract

Resumo: Ao invés de propor mais uma "psicanálise aplicada", os encontros de Jung com a arte representaram para ele oportunidades privilegiadas para reviver, retrabalhar e renovar seu próprio pensamento. É o que veremos, ao considerar algumas das obras da Antiguidade, das tradições orientais, da alquimia ocidental, das artes cristãs e da criação moderna e contemporânea, que se revelaram determinantes para a evolução sucessiva de sua concepção e de sua prática para lidar com o inconsciente. Jung and the arts Abstract: Contrary to give rise to an "applied psychoanalysis," another more, Jung's encounters with the arts were welcome opportunities for him to strike new ground, rework and renew his own thoughts. We will become aware of this trait in Jung while considering with him certain works from Antiquity, Eastern traditions, Western alchemy, Christian art, as well as from the modern and contemporary creation. These proved to be decisive for the successive development of Jung's understanding and practice of the relationship to the unconscious.
