Abstract

Presents comparative case studies of family policy in GB, Canada, & the US to explain how governments utilize family policies to maintain patriarchal systems & to promote labor force & economic goals. Ways in which equality/difference theories are applied in family policy are examined. Propositions are developed to provide a basis for developing new approaches to family policy based on gender equality. 42 References. Adapted from the source document.
