Abstract

THIS article discusses the control of the important ectoparasitic diseases of horses. The elimination of ectoparasites will, in most cases, resolve the associated clinical disease. However, occasionally additional therapy may be required to manage the concurrent dermatosis. In a number of ectoparasitic conditions hypersensitivity can develop, which may require appropriate therapeutic intervention.
