Abstract

The present work is the result of a low-income dwelling inclusive design for a family at Monte Sinahí. Students and professors of the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil in one of the economically less favored settlements and exposed to high vulnerability risks in Guayaquil, designed a housing prototype through a systemic way with bioclimatic criteria and the use of ecomaterials. The project includes universal accessibility required by a family consisting of an older adult with motor disability and a young man with Down’s syndrome. This archetype is a partial result of a winner project of the National Program of Financing for Research - INEDITA in the area of Energy and Materials research of the Institutional Modality, organized by the Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (SENESCYT) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ecuador.
