Abstract

A band-stop filter (BSF), which shows the features of large bandwidth, is present in this paper. Changing the arrangement of quarter wavelength associating shapes of ordinary open-stub band-stop filter with the coupled line section is utilized in this paper. The filter characteristics are controlled by the gap between the parallel lines. This band-stop filter was design using single λ/4 resonator with one section of counter-coupled lines with open stub. The 20 dB rejection band of the proposed filter is from 2.7 to 11 GHz, and insertion loss of passband is below 1.2 dB. There are four transmission zeros in the stopband. The circuit size of the proposed filter is 13.2 mm × 26.25 mm (0.17λg × 0.33λg). The application of these filter in the field of communication, biomedical, public address system etc.
